Daily Prompt: 21st Century Citizen

The Daily Prompt is asking: “Do you belong in this day and age? Do you feel comfortable being a citizen of the 21st-century? If you do, explain why — and if you don’t, when in human history would you rather be?”

The fact that I am born in this century, means that I belong to it. It´s that easy. However, I do understand the question and really like the question of todays Daily Post. I feel torn if I want to answer the question. This century is pretty interesting and I like it most of the time but sometimes I really get this feeling and thoughts to abandon everything for a more independent life due to too much annoying bureaucracy and trouble.

I love the technology and inventions we have in our modern century but it has also some bad side effects like increasing stress due to the fast life. It makes me sometimes think that 21st century life and city life can also be annoying at times. But if I feel so, then I visit grandma and grandpa in the nature of Salem to calm down like I did it when I was a child.

However… as I am born in this century, I do think I belong here. I just think that we sometimes need a quite place for example in the nature or interesting hobbies if we get stressed, to really calm down a lot.

But if there would be a time machine, then I would probably look into several other centuries of the history. I mean just because I would like to experience how it was there. Movies and documentation can give us this information but I would like to see it with my own eye´s and I think this is very different. I would for sure use this nifty time machine!

    1. Cool! I can imagine that you can calm down in your garden. I wish I would have a garden too. But grandma´s and grandpa´s camping site has a similar effect and it looks like a garden there. I can go there when ever I want. Nature is really like medicine if you are in stress 🙂 Good that you have found a way too to discharge stress. A garden seems to be perfect to calm down 🙂
