The Daily Prompt writes:
Was there a toy or thing you always wanted as a child, during the holidays or on your birthday, but never received? Tell us about it.
I want to answer this. Yes, I always dreamed of my own Fender Stratocaster guitar but one of the more expansive models. But I never felt angry that I didn´t get a 2000 dollar guitar. Fortunately I´m grown up with the thinking that it is not so much about what you get, but rather that people come together during holiday or birthday. That´s what makes me much more happy.
I often got anything as my family was not too poor but it´s not so that my family could throw around thousand dollar or euro gifts. But as said, that was never a drama for me and I today still believe that not everything is about gifts or money. Being together on the days is for me much more worth than any object.
Oh and I anyway still had the chance to play on grandpa´s own Stratocaster time by time as he played guitar as well. 🙂
Cowboy boots. Not spats, but the high-top shoes.
Buying the boots now wouldn’t heal any of the feeling of being unheard or impoverished.
🙂 sweet, its true that living together is worth enough than other gifts.
Absolutely, I agree. We never should forget that our all time here on earth, and the time together with out loved ones is priceless. Being here, and having a good time together, is already the biggest gift. That´s why we always should come together, not because primary expectations to get tangibles. The time we can have together with our loved ones, has much more value than any tangible gift. 🙂
