Above is another photo I edited to the point that it almost looks like a painting, because as said, I like the style of “degraded photos”. What do you think about it? Continue reading By The River

Like I mentioned previously, I sometimes like to experiment with unnatural looks when I edit photos. By that I mean giving photos a look as if they were painted. It does especially work well with photos that have been shot inside rooms. Above is a photo that I shot in a room inside the St. Mary’s Church in Lübeck. The original photo was ok but I edited it heavily and I absolutely love the result. Continue reading Beautiful Room
I mentioned this several times that I like artificial pictures as well. What I mean by this is that I sometimes like to give a picture a painted type of vibe, or I sometimes also refer to it as images that look like they were made for adventure video games. Ironically, to get there you don’t have to increase the quality, in a way you actually have to degrade the quality of the image. It’s just a matter of how you want to go, sometimes it’s really cool to completely go DOS (referring to the old DOS games type of … Continue reading Artificial Scene
Above is a photo that I shot some time ago. I saw the moon beside the St. Petri Church in Lübeck and liked the scene. What I noticed or learned is that sometimes the moon will appear much bigger if there is an object in the foreground. I think same counts if the moon is near the horizon and if I am not wrong it’s called Moon Illusion. I believe lens compression helps too if you shoot with a Tele lens. I shot the photo with my Tamron 70-300mm lens. I have an old post from 2013 where you can … Continue reading Church and Moon
I already shot several photos of sparrows, but I thought I upload another one. It’s maybe not the greatest photo, but also not one I would want to delete because the sparrow is still clearly visible. What I just don’t like is that the branches in the photos are a bit distracting from the main subject. But with nature photography you can’t always do it right. Especially with birds it can be a challenge when they are up in the trees or in a bush, but I still like to try to get a good shot. That is also the … Continue reading Another Sparrow
Above is a photo that I also shot with a cheapo point-and-shoot camera. The camera I used at that time was a Medion Life P43040, which you can see here. The camera had a macro mode, although I personally think it didn’t have a lot to do with macro photography except that you could take close-up photos. With that mode I really got fascinated with close-up photos of flowers but also textures. I really loved textures, especially rusty stuff like in the image above. What I like about rusty metal that makes paint burst, is that it looks pretty abstract … Continue reading Rusty Texture
