In the photo, you see an ammunition depot. I shot the photo in a forest in Heidekamp, outside of Lübeck but very close to Reinfeld. The bunker is one of twelve ammunition depots in our area that were used by the German federal government until the end of the cold war. The ammunition was stored to be able to blow up bridges of strategic value, to prevent enemy troops to advance if it would have come to an invasion. Today, the bunker has a peaceful use case. The Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU), a nature conservation association developed it into a quarter … Continue reading Cold War Ammunition Depot
Here is another photo that is already 5 years old. I like abandoned places or lost places but we don’t have too many of those places in our city, which is why I don’t take these photos regularly. The building I photographed looked quite spooky and I am glad that I took photos of it because they demolished the building one or two years ago. But up to this day they didn’t build something new there, it’s now basically an empty lot. There is another photo of this building on my blog. Continue reading Spooky Abandoned Place
Today I show you some interesting photos with an abandoned structure again. I found this building in 2015 in the outskirts of our city. Ironically I found that area by accident. I hiked through the nature reserve Schellbruch and at … Continue reading I Got Lost
Maybe It’s A Boat, Maybe It’s A Car, Maybe It’s Both. Nobody Knows. I had to laugh when I saw this during my hike. I wonder if the boat really swims or if it’s just supposed to be art. What do you think? Continue reading Maybe It’s A Boat, Maybe It’s A Car, Maybe It’s Both. Nobody Knows.
Above you can see a photo that I shot during a hike near the nature reserve Schellbruch. It’s a wrecked or abandoned boat. I like abandoned objects and structures, because the worn-out textures or the rust colours are very interesting. Also abandoned things remind me of dystopian science fiction movies, a genre that I really like. Continue reading Abandoned Boat
As you might have noticed, I am currently a bit slower with the publishing on my blog. It’s autumn, a good time to get the hands on some computer games. But in the meantime I wanted to show you a photo again. I shot this photo of the old door a while back, I didn’t like how the colours turned out, but I liked the photo after I converted it to black and white. The photo is a nice expansion to my abandoned category. I do really like old materials that suffered, I like the texture of these materials. Continue reading Old Door In Black And White
