Sand Art Sculpture

I wonder why I never posted this photo. Maybe because I still have so many on my hard drive to upload. But it is anyway to post a photo on my blog as I didn´t do that often since some time now. This is one photo that my mother took with her smartphone some time ago on a local beach. It was summer 2013. I don´t know who the artist of this nice sand sculpture is but it does look pretty awesome. I think the person who did that, has great talent. I really like the sand sculpture. Great art! … Continue reading Sand Art Sculpture

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

We visited a nostalgic palace in Schwerin, which means that the Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic comes to the right time. The palace is build on an island surrounded by lakes. The palace is called “Schloss Schwerin” and it is a very beautiful place. The palace is build in 1845-57 by order of Friedrich Franz II as a residence for the grand dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. I think the architecturally idea is called neo-renaissance style and remembers a little bit to the french style like the Chambord. Today Schloss Schwerin is a museum. Outside it is already beautiful but sadly we didn´t … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

Daily Prompt: The Artist’s Eye

The Daily Prompt Mission for today: “Is there a painting or sculpture you’re drawn to? What does it say to you? Describe the experience. (Or, if art doesn’t speak to you, tell us why.) Photographers, artists, poets: show us ART”. For todays Daily Prompt, I rather go the photographers route and show you ART. The photo above is not a good shot. It´s rather a snapshot. In the image you can see what my aunt painted. I took the photo in one of her rooms. I do think her paintings have potential. I love the colours and the body shape … Continue reading Daily Prompt: The Artist’s Eye

Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves

I think flowers have curves as well and this is why I want to participate with a flower photo in the Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves. I found this flower on the balcony of my mother and the flower was in front of a white solar protection wall, which was great because layering effects work too great then. I took the Photo with the camera of the Sony Xperia P Smartphone. I didn´t want to make rocket science with Photoshop and edited the image pretty fast with the smart phone app called pixlr-o-matic. It is an easy app and you can … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves

Don´t Eat Snow Pie

I often wrote here that my mother can become very creative if she is bored. What I mean is,… she then starts to look around to find ideas what to do. I really like that because this is a way to look what the surrounding world offers. Since here is still so many snow in North Germany and because her balcony is full of snow. she started to create a pie out of snow. Don´t worry.. nobody did eat the snow pie. But you must admit the pie could pass as artwork… or? Continue reading Don´t Eat Snow Pie
