Common Blackbird Close-Up

You can find Common Blackbirds everywhere in the city, but the photo in this post was taken in the nature. I came fairly close with my 70-300mm Tamron lens, but I cropped the image slightly to get even closer. The black feathering of these birds might be boring, but still they are very funny and cute birds, and also beautiful. Looks like my Common Blackbird category on the blog is starting to grow. If you are new to the blog, check out my other photos. Continue reading Common Blackbird Close-Up

Beautiful Duck

Here is a photo that I shot in Bad Oldesloe, they have ponds and rivers too there, and nature reserves. Since you can find ducks almost everywhere, they are not really special photo subjects, but they are still very beautiful. Especially this particular duck is beautiful, the plumage reminds me of tiger or leopard fur, because of the patterns and colours. What I mentioned often too, I like that ducks are slow, you can practice photography, for example experimenting with the manual modes of your camera, and this will build up experience I think. About Kit Lenses And A Swan Close-Up Photo

I found this swan photo while I browsed through my Lightroom catalog. I shot the photo by the end of the last year when I only owned the Nikon 18-105mmm kit lens and when I was starting out with DSLR photography. The photo was taken at 105mm but the swan was close to the waterside. I like this close-up shot, I just cropped the image slightly and sharpened the image a bit. Even if it’s not my only lens anymore, I won’t forget how the Nikon 18-105mm helped me to learn about my camera and what focal lengths actually mean … Continue reading About Kit Lenses And A Swan Close-Up Photo

Swan Photo

Not sure when and where I shot the photo above, but I like it and wanted to upload it to my swan category. I think the water in the background is a bit distracting, sometimes water looks good in photos and sometimes not, and I think it depends on the daylight. It could also be about the angle, there is too much water visible in the photo, I think the photo would look better with a horizon (at eye level), for example with plants in the background and a bokeh. Anyway, the swan is still visible and I think the … Continue reading Swan Photo

Bird In The Garden

Time for a bird photo again. Now in the city I have less chances to take photos of birds. I mainly find pigeons, crows and common blackbirds, but sometimes I also find other birds in the bushes, in the parks, outside of the districts or in the nature around the city. As my mother has a garden, there is another chance to take photos of some special birds. The photo in this post was taken in her garden, I think it was an old house sparrow. Anyway, I still miss the country, it was much easier to find birds in … Continue reading Bird In The Garden

Common Blackbird Photo

Even if I uploaded already several common blackbird photos, I don’t stop to take photos of them. They are indeed common, you find them everywhere in Germany, and that means they might be boring for some, but still they are good birds to practice photography. I like the photo in this post as you can see that the bird is walking down the tree branch, I like it if you see this type of movement in a photo, because it makes the photo look lively. If you are new to my blog, you can find more bird photos if you … Continue reading Common Blackbird Photo
