Pigeon Close-Up


Today I did grab the photo gear again and went outside to take more photos. It will probably take months to upload all the photos of the first shooting but I went outside for the second big shooting anyway. I have a lot of fun to take photos with the new camera and it doesn’t really matter when I upload all the images, it’s cool that the photo collection is growing, although I will run out of hard drive space very soon, but I might buy an additional hard drive then. Natrix natrix


We found a grass snake in our garden pond yesterday. This is a non-venomous snake you can find here in Germany, generally in Europe from Scandinavia to southern Italy but I learned that you can find them in the Middle East and northwestern Africa as well. The binomial name is “Natrix natrix”, the English name is grass snake but sometimes also called water snake or ringed snake, the last name is similar to the German name, because we call this snake Ringelnatter and that means ringed snake. Ant on the Plant


I was not sure how to call this post here but then I got an idea, and a second later I had to laugh because I love how the title “Ant on the Plant” rhymes. Talking about the photo, I used the macro mode of my digital camera to capture the photo of the ant. The macro mode will of course not do wonders because the camera is cheap, but sometimes it works out well. The photo was quite blurry anyway, but I could fix it anyhow with Lightroom. Mice Meeting


Above you can see two mice of my half-brother. We took the photo last summer when we did let them play on the lawn. We had to be very careful that they don’t run away. But even if they are fast runners, they were not that fast outside due to the fuzzy grass and probably also because they are not that experienced like a mouse that lives in this habitat.
