Here is a bad photo of a squirrel. Bad because the photo was pretty useless without cropping, and the heavy cropping reduced the image quality heavily. But somehow I also didn’t want to delete the image. I mean, you can see the squirrel very well, it’s just that I don’t like the image quality. But I think it’s still a nice snapshot. Here is a photo of a white duck. I saw it in a local pond and I’ve read that white ducks aren’t common outside. So, it is most likely a breed of domestic duck, probably escaped. The photo was shot at 1/1600 sec, which was fast enough to get the wing flap in the photo. This is a photo where I didn’t feel the need to edit, except that I increased sharpness because I shot RAW. I also cropped quite a bit to get even closer but that was all. Everything else was fine in my opinion. Continue reading White Duck
Here is a photo of a common blackbird. The photo didn’t work well in color but I liked it more in black and white. It’s still not perfect but the reason I converted the image was that the colors looked dull, and the background was way too intrusive. Just a snapshot I took near our train station. I like shapes of different bridges. Generally, the picture was a bit boring, but in black and white it really looked great. I don’t know, especially urban photos can look really grungy in black and white, especially when there are smearings on buildings or walls. I think these pictures start to shine when you convert them to black and white. But maybe it’s just my taste. I really like it that. But I do generally like black and white photography. I don’t have much time anymore because I meet a friend in voice chat the next minutes, but I wanted to push the photo above out to my blog. I tried to get a close-up photo of my cat with the 40mm macro lens I am using. The paw turned out to be a bit too distracting in the photo, and I hoped the paw would be less blatant.
