Another Beautiful Horse

As promised, I already started to add some of my horse photos to my blog. The photo in this post was shot when I hiked through the Riesebusch area in Bad Schwartau. It is a brown and white horse, but it almost looks like a black and white horse. I saw the horse in this post on a small field together with a beautiful white horse. Now there are already a few entries in my horse category, but I will increase the amount over time to have a nice horse photo collection here. Continue reading Another Beautiful Horse

Forest Path

If you’re regular reader of my blog, you might have noticed that I like to take pictures of paths. I am not exactly sure why, but I do like some ways so much that I just take the picture. I think it’s also about the landscape on the left and on the right, or the weather conditions that can make a scene look interesting. The photo in this post was taken last December during a hike through a small forest in Reinfeld. Continue reading Forest Path

Weekly Photo Challenge: H2O

A little bit late, but here comes my entry to the WordPress Photo Challenge of this week. I’ve been busy with other things but yesterday I tried to look for a photo in my library that would fit to the H2O theme, and to be honest because the decision was difficult as I have so many photos that would fit. It’s one of the photos … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: H2O

Golden Hour Cattle

In this post you can see a photo of cattle that I shot during the golden hour. I do really like this animal portrait, because the golden hour colours are cool and I do like the glowing ears and the fur detail. It’s one of those shots that I took out of boredom to take a photo at all, but at home I was surprised how good the photo looked. There was just minimal editing because the original image was already quite good, I just pushed the shadows, clarity and the contrast a bit and decreased the blacks. Check out … Continue reading Golden Hour Cattle

Stray Glaucous Gull

As almost everywhere near the coast, it’s also easy to find gulls near the German coast, for example herrings gulls. It’s however less likely that you will find a glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus) here at the German coast, but that’s exactly what happened to me during a hike through the Schellbruch. I was wondering why the gull looked so different compared to other gulls and after researching I found out that it’s a less common gull. In other words, the habitat of this gull species is much further north in the subpolar zone and in the arctic polar region. But … Continue reading Stray Glaucous Gull
