Damaged Window

I always wanted to expand the categories of my blog about urban exploration or abandoned stuff. If you take so many photos, you never know what you want to upload or share first. Abandoned things are very interesting and I shot all kind of photos that I shouldn’t forget to upload too. I always mentioned that I don’t know exactly what I like about abandoned things, but I assume it’s about the textures and details of old and rotten materials, but maybe it’s also about the mysteriousness of abandoned things. Beautiful Small Bird

Here is the Eurasian blue tit again, I showed you photos of this species a couple of times already. The photo in this post was shot last March under bad weather conditions and after I got my Tamron 70-300mm lens. I edited the image to make it a bit brighter but sadly I also had to crop the image to show you the subject. I think there was luck involved, I just pressed the shutter button at the right time, and it’s cool that I did so before the bird flew away. My bird photo collection get bigger and bigger, … Continue reading Beautiful Small Bird

A Zebra Finch

I mentioned it already in two of my older posts, I found a bird station with big aviaries along a forest hiking trail. In the big aviaries were different birds that are not or less common in Germany. That’s where I shot a photo of a canary bird and a photo of a golden pheasant. In my current post I want to show you another photo that I shot there, a photo of a zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata). I do really prefer to take photos of free birds, not only because it’s better for the birds if they are free, … Continue reading A Zebra Finch

Female Mallard

Here is a photo of a mallard (Anas platyrhynchos), also called wild duck. The duck in the photo is a female mallard, the males look very different and have a green head, with brighter and different plumage, and at the neck it looks as if they have a white collar. I have a post where you can see both a female and male mallard, the male is on the left and the female on the right. But I think the photo is not as great as the close-up photo of the female duck that you can see here in my … Continue reading Female Mallard

Bumblebee Worker

Here is a photo that I shot last May during a hike through the nature around Reinfeld. I didn’t do a lot of insect photography since I purchased my first DSLR camera. It’s mainly because I don’t own a macro lens, but in some cases it’s also possible to take insect photos with my Tamron 70-300mm lens or with my Nikon 18-105 lens. I did for example write down my experience about how you can get decent insect photos with the Nikon 18-105mm lens, but this just as a sidenote. For the photo in this post, I used my Tamron … Continue reading Bumblebee Worker

A Tufted Duck

Here is a photo of a tufted duck (Aythya fuligula). The image is not that sharp because I had to crop heavily. But I wanted to show the tufted duck anyway because I believe that I never did so on my blog. But I guess the image is not too bad, you can see the subject well. I believe I have some better photos of this species somewhere in my library, I will upload them in the future if that is the case. The photo was taken near a pond called Herrenteich in Reinfeld.
