Parus major

Above is a photo that I shot today and I am pretty happy with it. I was able to crop the image heavily, but it still looked ok. The image was shot with my Tamron 70-300mm lens and I was kinda close but with the cropping during post-processing I could come up with the result above. In Germany we call the bird “Kohlmeise” but the English name is kinda funny because you guys call the bird “great tit” but the scientific name is “Parus major”. I am pretty proud because my bird photo collection grew a lot over time. I … Continue reading Parus major

European Robin

Today I was hiking because we had sun and it looked a bit like spring. I didn’t take a lot of photos over the winter, instead I uploaded some that I shot previously. Winter can be great and there are some interesting subjects during this time as well, but this winter I was not in the mood to go outside with the camera very often. But the weather was good today and with spontaneity I grabbed my camera and went outside. I shot some photos of birds, including the photo of the European Robin that you see in this post. … Continue reading European Robin

Below the Autobahn

The Autobahn cuts right through our city and at some points there are bridges that help pedestrians and cyclist to the other side. That means I was probably in a very experimental mood to try out my new gear. But I noticed this picture now in my library and I think it … Continue reading Below the Autobahn

Street in Lübeck

Above you can see a small alley or street in the historic district of Lübeck. It’s the most interesting district in our city because there you can still find old construction styles. In other words, you find a lot of buildings with brick stone. First I wanted to upload the photo in color, but it was shot in JPG and the image contained overblown highlights so that I decided to convert it to black and white. But that’s not bad either, because I love black and white photos and it works with the photo above as well. Continue reading Street in Lübeck

Male House Sparrow

Above is a photo of a house sparrow and I believe it is a male house sparrow. I shot the photo last year somewhere in Timmendorf near the beach. They were sitting on a glass fence but I also found them in the bushes near the beach. Generally, they are very common here and I see them often. If you like bird photos, you can find more on my blog and also different photos of sparrows. Continue reading Male House Sparrow
