Above is a photo of a house sparrow and I believe it is a male house sparrow. I shot the photo last year somewhere in Timmendorf near the beach. They were sitting on a glass fence but I also found them in the bushes near the beach. Generally, they are very common here and I see them often. If you like bird photos, you can find more on my blog and also different photos of sparrows.
Yes, that is a male house sparrow.
Cool. I looked at other photos with Google, read an article about different sparrows and was kinda sure, but not completely 🙂
They are an introduced species in this country (USA), and are common at backyard bird feeders. I probably see some house sparrows every day, so am familiar with them.
Does that mean the distribution started just over the last decades in the USA? Or much longer ago?
It’s been some time ago. Here’s a link to information on that introduction: http://www.columbia.edu/itc/cerc/danoff-burg/invasion_bio/…/Passer_domesticus.htm

Thank you I will read! I like to learn about this 🙂
You are welcome, Dennis~!
