Here is a photo of a cyclist. The colored version of the photo was fine but I liked it more in black and white. The cyclist was not completely in focus and that’s also why black and white works better. As I often preach, black and white will hide issues like soft focus if the problem is not too big. Here is a photo of my cat Shyna. The highlights were overblown and the colors not respectable in my opinion. So, generally, the image was bad but I didn’t want to delete it as I knew it might look better in black and white. I preach this very often, when I am unhappy with the colors, I convert my images to black and white right away. It makes photos with boring colors look really good, that’s at least my opinion. Here is just a snapshot of an Audi car. I liked the reflections a lot and when I converted the image to black and white, it really started to look cool. What do you think? Here is another old photo. Also shot with my Sony Xperia P back then. I think the scribbled smiley isn’t impressive but funny. But I probably liked how grungy the wall looked like. The photo however only looked great in black and white because it made the wall textures become more apparent. It actually looked a lot more grungy in black and white. Continue reading Smiley
Here is an older photo. I shot this photo of Lübeck in 2013 with my Sony Xperia P phone. Honestly, the colored photo looked dull and I decided to try different black and white settings. I like this a lot in black and white. As I mentioned quite often in the past, I also like to upload my older photos that I shot with phones or point-and-shoot cameras because they’re not exactly bad.
