Beautiful Big Wheel

Here is another shot that I tried out yesterday. I saw the big wheel in one of the Christmas market areas and thought this would make a great photo. I didn’t want to have the Christmas market stands on the picture or any people, that means I looked for a good angle. I basically just wanted to have the dark sky and the colourful big wheel on the photo. I think I achieved that, and I like the angle. I shot the photo handheld at 1/30 second, f/4.8 and ISO 1600. Another Night Photo From My City

Here is another night photography approach, but I actually shot the photo during the dark autumn evening, not really at night. The photo was taken at the same day when I shot the other one. But this time I don’t show you the front of the historical district, but a scene that I shot directly in this district. As you can see, lot’s of brick stone buildings, and a beautiful cobblestone street, that’s really what our historical district is about, until a hipster architect is at work again to modernize an areas again. But for now, Lübeck still has some … Continue reading Another Night Photo From My City

Lübeck In The Evening

Ok, I finally did it. Today I wondered again why I purchases a quite decent tripod back then, when I never really used it. I got headache inside because of the heating air in my apartment, the best way to get ill, and thought it would be better to get out there to take a deep breath of fresh autumn air. I just didn’t know what I could do outside, and as said, my tripod came into my mind. I thought I should finally go out there to try night photography with my tripod. It was a bit wet outside, … Continue reading Lübeck In The Evening

Handheld Night Photography Try

Here is a photo that I shot handheld at night. It’s funny, I have a very cool Manfrotto tripod and recently I did even purchase a cool tripod bag, but yet I am still too lazy to carry the stuff out there to take some cool night photographs. The photo in this post was shot without tripod, because as said, I am way too lazy to take the tripod with me. I shot the photo with manual settings as I wanted to try out if it’s possible at all. I did set the camera to ISO 1600 with aperture f4 … Continue reading Handheld Night Photography Try

Experimental Moon Photo

It’s nighttime and the night sky is cloud-free, the moon visible, and I thought I try to take a picture. I did set up my tripod, the D7100 and my Tamron 70-300mm lens. I activated the 1.3 crop mode of my D7100, then I disabled the vibration reduction mode of the lens as I wanted to use my tripod anyway. Apart from that, I enabled RAW and JPG fine, to see if I can get a little bit more quality out of the RAW file. I did set the camera manually to ISO 100, f/10 and 1/200 of a second. … Continue reading Experimental Moon Photo
