Charlie Snapshot

Here is a snapshot of Charlie, the cute dog of my mother. It was really just a snapshot and I like how he is portrayed but I disliked the background of the photo. With “post-crop vignetting” I could make him become the focus of the photo, because with the darkened corners the background looked less intrusive. I hope you like the photo. I have more dog photos on my blog if you like to take a look. Continue reading Charlie Snapshot

Yawning Cat

It’s that time again, I have to push one of Shyna’s photos in front of your eyes again. In this photo she is yawning, I am always happy when I can freeze the time with my camera when she is doing this. She is probably my most photographed subject, I like to take photos of her and can’t stop that. I have already a huge library filled with photos of her. But I guess every person owned by a cat does this. Probably every person owned by a pet in general. Continue reading Yawning Cat

A Carrion Crow

Above you can see a carrion crow (Corvus corone). We have quite a lot of them here in Germany. Where I live there are places where you could easily find thousands of them in threes with hundreds of nests. I remember when I was in Reinfeld and a storm came up, sitting with my uncle near the window we saw how the sky became black because thousands of them ascended from the bush that was hundred meters away from our windows. I really mean the sky became black, it was a spectacle of nature. We thought they could feel electricity, … Continue reading A Carrion Crow

The Pancake Issue

My uncle, my mother and me sat together some days ago and we decided to make pancakes. To be more exact, my mother made the pancakes because I am way too stupid to make them. It’s not that I don’t know how to make them, it’s just that my pancakes would look like noodles on the plate, because I never managed it to get them in one piece on the plate. You think it’s impossible to destroy pancakes before they land on the plate? My mother thinks that too and always chuckles when she hears about my problems with making … Continue reading The Pancake Issue

Common Blackbird Close-Up

Here is a photo of a common blackbird again. I could get quite close with my Tamron 70-300mm lens, but I cropped the image to get even closer. The image quality didn’t suffer too much, I like how it turned out. It’s interesting, because you would think they always look the same, and they basically do, but since I shot many photos of common blackbirds, I start to notice differences. Yeah, they are black, but the body shape is often very different, or the feather tone can vary or the length of the beak for example. The bird in the … Continue reading Common Blackbird Close-Up
