Weekly Photo Challenge Close-Up: Thriving Flower

The recent WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge came last friday with the theme “Close-Up”. That is interesting, because the image I used in this post would have fit nicely to the theme, but I used it right before. Anyway, I have no problem to find another one. We don’t have the best weather right now, it’s raining since some days, that means I had to dig in my folders to find an appropriate image for the challenge, one photo that I shot before the rain. To be honest, most of the time my photos are uploaded delayed anyway. So, I decided … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge Close-Up: Thriving Flower

Just A New Flower Photo

Today in the morning I found some flowers on my hike through the gardens. You can see one of them in the photo, they look like daisies but I am not really sure if they are. The flower you see in the photo does actually look smaller than I saw them in real. They were much bigger than a usual daisy, especially the stem was quite long with around 20 or 30 cm. Most daisies I saw in the past were pretty tiny, it seems this is a big one that is not so common here, I did at least … Continue reading Just A New Flower Photo

Beautiful Daisy

As I mentioned in my recent post, it’s in quite a lot of cases impossible to get close-up shots of flowers with the Nikon 18-105mm kit lens, but that depends of course of the flower size. Walking near the Trave River, I found a daisy that was big enough so that I could focus well and got the shot you can see here in my post. This daisy was bigger than usual daisies, I was able to get this flower in focus, I can just forget to take photos of even smaller flowers. But for now this isn’t really a … Continue reading Beautiful Daisy

Beautiful Nature

I walked near the Trave River today to see if I find anything interesting, to see if I can take more photos. I took quite a lot of photos but I am not happy with all of them. Talking about flowers now, I noticed that my kit lens really doesn’t do a great job for flower close-up shots, it’s simply not a macro lens. If I zoom in too much, it’ll be very hard and often even impossible to get the flower in focus. But you can get some neat results if you are not too close, it’s just not … Continue reading Beautiful Nature

Bumblebee seeking Dust on a Flower

I had to visit to the authorities yesterday and I found this bumblebee on my way, seeking for dust on a flower. I noticed many of them but decided to go closer to take close-up shot of one of them. When I saw the images on my smart phone display, I thought the photos would be great. But arrived at home, I thought that the photo quality is not so good. But I decided to upload them anyway, because I like to have photos of insects and animals in general on my blog. But also photos of flowers. I think … Continue reading Bumblebee seeking Dust on a Flower

This Insect didn´t want to be on the Photo. At least not with the Head.

This Insect did turn around while I did hit the Release Button of my Camera. Pretty wicked! I did turn around then too to get the Photo but the Insect did fly away then. I just thought “That´s unfair!”. 🙂 I have some more Photos with Flowers and Insects here… My Photos of Insects. My Photos of Flowers. Continue reading This Insect didn´t want to be on the Photo.
