Above is a minimalist snapshot, not a very busy photo but I sometimes like these scenes where there is less in the picture. I decided for black and white because it gave the scene more structure, and lines like the wood of the jetty became more apparent. The photo was shot in Travemünde. Here is a portrait of Charlie. I didn’t like the image at first because his nose was very blurry, but I tried to hide the issue by using a black and white filter and using a dark graduated filter to make one side of the face darker. I think it somehow works. Continue reading In the Dark
