Natrix natrix


We found a grass snake in our garden pond yesterday. This is a non-venomous snake you can find here in Germany, generally in Europe from Scandinavia to southern Italy but I learned that you can find them in the Middle East and northwestern Africa as well. The binomial name is “Natrix natrix”, the English name is grass snake but sometimes also called water snake or ringed snake, the last name is similar to the German name, because we call this snake Ringelnatter and that means ringed snake. I wrote already about the Sand Lizard on my blog and published a photo in the article. But I had the chance to take some new photos of a Sand Lizard, because we were in Salem yesterday, a beautiful place with intact nature. It is quite easy to find Sand Lizard´s in Salem. A Photo of two Sand Lizards and further Informations


My little young cousin did catch two Sand Lizards for a short photoshoot in Salem (in North Germany). It´s one older and one younger Sand Lizard. Indeed… she did release both to the nature after taking the photos because the Sand Lizards are threatened due to the continuing endangerment of their habitats which I will explain further in this article here. Photos of Bearded Dragons made when I visited a good Friend…


I visited a Friend yesterday and we had a great Time together. He is a Terrarium Owner and in the Terrarium there are two Bearded Dragons. These Animals are funny. They didn´t react to me when I did sit in front of the Terrarium.
