Spooky Abandoned Place

Here is another photo that is already 5 years old. I like abandoned places or lost places but we don’t have too many of those places in our city, which is why I don’t take these photos regularly. The building I photographed looked quite spooky and I am glad that I took photos of it because they demolished the building one or two years ago. But up to this day they didn’t build something new there, it’s now basically an empty lot. There is another photo of this building on my blog. Continue reading Spooky Abandoned Place

Smiley

Here is another old photo. Also shot with my Sony Xperia P back then. I think the scribbled smiley isn’t impressive but funny. But I probably liked how grungy the wall looked like. The photo however only looked great in black and white because it made the wall textures become more apparent. It actually looked a lot more grungy in black and white. Continue reading Smiley

Bridge and Rails

Just a snapshot I took near our train station. I like shapes of different bridges. Generally, the picture was a bit boring, but in black and white it really looked great. I don’t know, especially urban photos can look really grungy in black and white, especially when there are smearings on buildings or walls. I think these pictures start to shine when you convert them to black and white. But maybe it’s just my taste. I really like it that. But I do generally like black and white photography. Abandoned Place

I thought I show you a photo again. The photo above was shot in 2015. I found that abandoned structure in L├╝beck and shot several pictures from different sides. Today you can’t find that structure anymore because they dismantled and demolished it to make room for something new I guess. This is the fun part about photography as well, you can take these pictures and you as a photographer and the photos become witness of the past. Since I didn’t like how I framed the image (I was way too close), I edited on a way that it looks more … Continue reading Abandoned Place

Below the Autobahn

The Autobahn cuts right through our city and at some points there are bridges that help pedestrians and cyclist to the other side. But in most cases it’s just an underpass and we have several of them. The photo above was shot when I got my first DSLR, and I think I was so amazed that I shot photos of all kind of things, even if it was just an underpass. That means I was probably in a very experimental mood to try out my new gear. But I noticed this picture now in my library and I think it … Continue reading Below the Autobahn
