Gathering

The photo above is my entry to the recent photo challenge. I thought I could use one of my bird photos for the theme “gathering”, although I shot the photo by the end of summer. Some photo challenges do remind me to go through the photos which I didn’t upload yet. You can see cormorants in the photo, I found them when I walked through the Schellbruch preserve area outside of our city. I really like cormorants, they are very interesting birds. Eye Spy

It’s interesting, yesterday I uploaded a photo of my cat Shyna and I talked about her eyes, and today there is the photo challenge called Eye Spy, a photo challenge about eyes. Don’t worry, I have so many photos of Shyna, and I thought the photo of this post fits very well to the challenge. To be honest, I like this photo even more, it’s extremely cute anyhow. If you wonder what she has in her mouth, she was chewing on a cat play pole, but it looks as if she would drink from a straw. I shot several photos … Continue reading Eye Spy

Trick or Treat Monster

The photo above is my entry to the recent WordPress photo challenge with the motto treat.  Halloween time starts, and as my cat looks like a little hungry furball monster in the photo, and because she got a treat while I shot the photo, I thought it would fit to the challenge motto. Trick or treat? Kitty logic is very different… trick and treat! Continue reading Trick or Treat Monster

Just A Common Blackbird, But Anyway…

The recent weekly photo challenge is about (Extra)ordinary things, and it took me a while to decide what kind of photo I would use for the challenge, mainly because I have all kind of photos that would fit. I eventually decided to use a photo of a common blackbird, because this summer I was pretty much into bird photography. How do I interpret the challenge or why did I choose a bird photo? I’d say certain birds are ordinary creatures, here in Germany it won’t take you much time to spot a common blackbird for example, at least in the … Continue reading Just A Common Blackbird, But Anyway…

Happy Places

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge comes with the theme “Happy Place”. I do not think that there is just one single place where I feel relaxed or happy, I know several happy places. My home acts as a safe haven where I can relax, where I can get creative, where I can mute problems, where I can feel happy most of the time. The same counts for the homes of family members, or the homes of close friends. But there is more than just that. I know happy zones outside as well, I do for example enjoy to hike, and … Continue reading Happy Places

Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

The recent Weekly Photo Challenge is about boundaries. The boundary you see in my photo is a protective barrier for the railroad network. I think it has two functions, stopping people to cross the rails and noise-insulation. What I like about the wall is that it’s not an ugly wall, I like how it’s overgrown with plants, we have other more ugly protective barriers in our city, but this one is quite beautiful in my opinion, what do you think?
