It Can Be Incredible Hard To Determine Birds

In Reinfeld where I am right now, there are quite a lot of little birds. I shot several photos of small ones, but sometimes it’s incredible hard to determine the birds. Take the photo in this post for example, it was a challenge to find the name, and I am not even sure about it yet. There are three very similar birds, the siskin, the serin and the yellowhammer buntin, all of them have some very similar features and colors. I think the bird in my photo might be a siskin, I say that because after researching I found out … Continue reading It Can Be Incredible Hard To Determine Birds

Just A Helicopter

It’s still not the perfect weather for photography, but I went outside anyway yesterday. I heard a chopper in the air and thought I could test my new lens again. The test photo was shot at 270mm, it doesn’t look that great due to the dark weather, but I am happy how far I get can with the lens. The photo is cropped, that means I was in fact further away, but I didn’t have to crop too much. I am happy that I can focus fast enough with the lens, it’s at least fast enough for me, and I … Continue reading Just A Helicopter

The Domain Search Continues

I canceled the domain that I purchased two days ago. The name was not too bad, I liked the short name, but I noticed some other problem with the domain. By the way, if you are blogging at wordpress.com and you purchase a domain there, you can cancel your purchased domain at anytime, however you will only get a refund if you do this within 48 hours. I learned this yesterday, and I thought this could be interesting for others too. Sometimes you are too hasty, or you notice a problem, and then this can be very handy. Talking about … Continue reading The Domain Search Continues

The Calmness In A Small Town

This is another post of the category advantages of a small town, and about myself. When I am in a bigger city, for example in my home town, I would never ever eat my breakfast in a bakery or coffee shop, I usually prefer to have my breakfast at home, and if that is not possible, I would rather eat my breakfast on my way. I don’t suffer from claustrophobia, but to be honest, the term is still perfect to explain the feelings I get if I am in a totally crowded room. That is however much different in the … Continue reading The Calmness In A Small Town

Weekly Photo Challenge: Vibrant

The theme of the recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about vibrant colors. I thought I would participate with a photo of a salad. I do not only like to eat salads, I do also like the colors of salads. I do usually add tomato, cucumber, lettuce and paprika to my salads, that means there are at least two vibrant colors, red and green, unless I add a paprika with a different colour like green or yellow. Blackbird 300mm Test Photo Under Bad Conditions

Above you can see a cropped image of a 300mm test shot I did take under bad weather conditions with my new 70-300mm Tamron lens. It was pretty cloudy, the ISO was bumped up to 1600, which is why the image is grainy even after using the noise reduction tool in Lightroom. Of course, the cropping makes the high ISO more apparent, but without editing it looked worse. Below I will show you the image without crop, and after that I will show you the image without crop and without changes in Lightroom. As said, the image was shot at … Continue reading Blackbird 300mm Test Photo Under Bad Conditions
