Yellow Farmland

It’s the first time I don’t like an English translation. I just typed the German word for this seed into an online dictionary and was pretty surprised about the translation, it’s a quite ambiguous word. Is this crop really called “rape” in English, or is there a better translation? I found the word “coleseed”, but the dictionary says it is a dated English word. Anyway, let’s talk about the photo. Of course, I took the photo again during one of my hikes. I liked the tracks of the tractors in the field, because it gives the image a bit of … Continue reading Yellow Farmland

Our Best Friend Is Called Hope

It’s a long time ago since I participated in any of the WordPress daily prompts, but the recent prompt is about hope, and if there is a word that described our recent weeks and months and this day well, it’s the word hope. As I mentioned already once, my uncle got the diagnosis brain tumor, and until recently it was not clear what kind of tumor it would be. He had a brain surgery where they tried to remove most of it, and the laboratory in another hospital got the samples and we were now waiting for the results, to … Continue reading Our Best Friend Is Called Hope

A Chat With Another Photographer During The Hike

Here is yet again a hiking path photo. I shot the photo today and I met another photographer on this path and we had a long talk about photography. He had a big dog, and I also saw that he had DSLR camera on the shoulder and I asked him if he has seen roe deer in the direction he came from, and he replied “No, not yet, but today I just went into the forest to take portraits of my dog”, and that’s how our conversation started. Often when I meet other photographers, it can happen that we get … Continue reading A Chat With Another Photographer During The Hike

Beautiful Forest Bird

Today I walked through the forest again and then I saw a bird in the bush, it’s most likely an Eurasian blackcap bird, a male, because the females have an orange cap and not a black one. During my research I also thought it could be a March tit or the Willow tit, but now I am sure it’s the Eurasian blackcap because the others would have a black marking on the chin and there were some other differences. After I nailed it down to the three birds, I asked the Google image search and thought, yeah, this should definitely … Continue reading Beautiful Forest Bird

This Is The Dog You Don’t Want To Meet

Ok, let me be honest, the title of this post is almost click bait, obviously I am still alive, but I thought the title would be funny. Anyway, the title still fits somehow, because this dog really didn’t like me. There is a fence in the photo, and there is this path I take when I want to get back into the town after I walked through the nature over fields and through small forests, however, this dog didn’t want me to get back into the town. The dog started to bark when I approached the street, then it almost … Continue reading This Is The Dog You Don’t Want To Meet

Hike Into The May

As I’ve been mainly in the city Lübeck the last two weeks, it was cool to see how things have grown in the nature of Reinfeld now that I am back for some weeks. Today was the first May, and I thought a hike into the May would be a nice idea. Look at the beautiful bushes in the photo, and all the blossom. I heard a loud hum from the bush, a collective noise caused by all the hard-working bees. Apart from that, May smells good, but since it gets warmer, I shouldn’t forget something to drink on my … Continue reading Hike Into The May
