Cold War Ammunition Depot


In the photo, you see an ammunition depot. I shot the photo in a forest in Heidekamp, outside of Lübeck but very close to Reinfeld. The bunker is one of twelve ammunition depots in our area that were used by the German federal government until the end of the cold war. The ammunition was stored to be able to blow up bridges of strategic value, to prevent enemy troops to advance if it would have come to an invasion. Today, the bunker has a peaceful use case. Spooky Abandoned Place


Here is another photo that is already 5 years old. I like abandoned places or lost places but we don’t have too many of those places in our city, which is why I don’t take these photos regularly. The building I photographed looked quite spooky and I am glad that I took photos of it because they demolished the building one or two years ago. Abandoned Place


I thought I show you a photo again. The photo above was shot in 2015. I found that abandoned structure in Lübeck and shot several pictures from different sides. Today you can’t find that structure anymore because they dismantled and demolished it to make room for something new I guess. This is the fun part about photography as well, you can take these pictures and you as a photographer and the photos become witness of the past. Abandoned Garden Shed


To my surprise, and if I remember right, a reader of my blog told me once that garden areas are not common in his country. So, when I talk about garden areas in Germany, they are very common here and I don’t talk about gardens in front of any houses. What I am talking about are large areas where you find several hundred plots that citizens can rent.
