The AMD Mantle driver (AMD Catalyst 14.1 Beta driver) should have been released with the latest Battlefield 4 patch with Mantle support. But the driver was not released on time due to a last-minute delay caused by too late detected driver issues. That´s why AMD did hold back the driver. DICE Released A New Battlefield 4 Patch Including Mantle Support For AMD Cards

DICE just rolled out the PC Game Update January 30 for Battlefield 4. Apart from bug fixes and balancing, the patch comes with the long-awaited Mantle support. This new render engine is a low-level graphics API which should increase the BF4 performance for people who have an AMD video card which supports Mantle. Find out about the requirements and how to use the Mantle renderer here. The main problem is that you will need the AMD Catalyst 14.1 Beta drivers but it seems that AMD didn´t get them out today. BF4 Mantle Patch Delayed to January 2014

The Mantle Update for Battlefield 4 will be delayed until January according to AnandTech. They quoted AMD and Electronic Arts… After much consideration, the decision was made to delay the Mantle patch for Battlefield 4. AMD continues to support DICE on the public introduction of Mantle, and we are tremendously excited about the coming release for Battlefield 4! You better use the beta graphics driver for the BF 4 open beta…

The latest graphics driver of NVIDIA and AMD are not really optimized for Battlefield 4. If you notice strange performance problems even if your system meets the requirements for Battlefield 4 on any settings, then you might want to check out the latest beta drivers for your videocard. In my case it did really boost the performance of the game a lot. But notice that the game is still in beta, which means there is sometimes also serverside lag.
