Last week I decided to grab my camera and went outside to see if I can take some new photos. I didn’t want to walk miles and decided to walk to one of the ponds in our parks. I noticed right away that it’s a little bit more difficult to take decent photos in autumn, especially when it’s so cloudy, but I went back home with some good bird photos. I saw the plant above in a small forest during my hike through the Schellbruch. I am not sure what kind of wild plant it is, I just thought it is a very beautiful plant. Apart from the plant, I do also like the depth of field and bokeh in the photo, I really like the result. Although it’s not working in every situation with my Nikon 18-105mm kit lens, I am happy that I learned how to get this kind of effect in some situations. I walked near the Trave River today to see if I find anything interesting, to see if I can take more photos. I took quite a lot of photos but I am not happy with all of them. Talking about flowers now, I noticed that my kit lens really doesn’t do a great job for flower close-up shots, it’s simply not a macro lens. If I zoom in too much, it’ll be very hard and often even impossible to get the flower in focus. Above you can see a photo of a wildflower that I found on a lawn last summer. The flower looks quite big on the photo but it is really a small one. I am not sure how the flower is called. I just know it’s a beautiful flower. I am happy that the flower time starts soon, so that I can expand my collection of flower photos. December was the last time I uploaded a photo of my cat Shyna. It’s time for a new one. It’s winter and the lighting conditions are not that good as it is mostly dark and if not that, then at least very cloudy. I prefer to take photos with natural sunlight near the windows because you can get great results on this way even with a cheap camera. I shot the image above in one of the streets of the historic district of Lübeck. This district is basically the core of the city, the inner-city but I mentioned this often. There are some very beautiful streets. There are for example a lot of beautiful small alleys with cobble streets and plants growing up the houses as you can see on the photo.
