Diamond Firetail Finches

The two cute birds in the picture above tested my Google skills today. I saw them in a pretty large birdcage in a forest during my time in Reinfeld. In the same cage there were Australian zebra finches according to a sign near the cage. But the birds in the photo of this posts looked different and there was no sign for them, and that made me wonder. But I forgot about that because I didn’t upload the image back then. Anyway, the question came up again today when I started to edit the image. I still have a photo … Continue reading Diamond Firetail Finches

A Zebra Finch

I mentioned it already in two of my older posts, I found a bird station with big aviaries along a forest hiking trail. In the big aviaries were different birds that are not or less common in Germany. That’s where I shot a photo of a canary bird and a photo of a golden pheasant. In my current post I want to show you another photo that I shot there, a photo of a zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata). I do really prefer to take photos of free birds, not only because it’s better for the birds if they are free, … Continue reading A Zebra Finch

Common Chaffinch On A Branch

Above you can see a photo of a Common Chaffinch. I believe I shot the photo at the same day when I recorded a video of a Common Chaffinch, it’s probably even the same bird but shot in another perspective. Sometimes it can be challenging to take photos of birds, especially if they are not at eye level, which is why the perspective of the photo in this post is not so good. Anyway, the photo is also not too bad, and I wanted to have the photo in my collection of bird photos. Continue reading Common Chaffinch On A Branch

Common Chaffinch Song

Today during my hike, I noticed a singing bird in the tree, it was the common chaffinch you can see in the photo of this post. I thought that I would have no chance to take a photo, because these small birds are often very shy, and if they are somewhere in the trees, the distance is a problem as well. I often try to take the photos anyway, because I can decide at home if they are good or if I want to delete them. In this case, the bird was two meters above me, I went a few … Continue reading Common Chaffinch Song
