Old Daisy Photo

I’d like to upload some of my older photos from time to time. When I say old, I mean photos in this case that I have taken before I purchased my first DSLR camera. I remember the time when my blog was just a year old and how I was totally amazed about my new 50 dollar Medion point and shoot camera, damn my English was much worse at that time. When I got my DSLR, I forgot about the folders full of photos taken with my previous camera. It’s too sad to forget about the old photos, I really … Continue reading Old Daisy Photo

Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

When I was hiking in Reinfeld back then, I often found whole fields of dandelion seed heads, almost oceans of them. When the wind was blowing, you would see millions of seed heads flying in the air, it really looked magical, or like in a fairy tale. But I thought it must be horrible for an allergic person. It must look cool if you take a photo of a flying seed head with a macro lens, but that’s probably pretty difficult to do. I noticed that I didn’t upload a lot of flower photos this year, there have been years … Continue reading Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

Weekly Photo Challenge: Frame

This weeks motto of the WordPress Photo Challenge is framed. I thought I participate with a photo that I shot in a local botanical garden. They have these beautiful overgrown areas with all kind of mixed plants and beautiful stone paths, but close to the exit they also have different smaller flowerbeds. They basically framed smaller flowerbeds with the stones around them, and in front of each flowerbed there are signs where you can learn about the flowers. I like this place, it’s pretty calm there, and they have lots of flowers, but it would be much more fun to … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Frame

Annual Complaint About The Summer Heat

I actually thought that I wouldn’t have to do this, but here it is, my annual complaint about summer heat. We had rainy and cloudy weeks since some time now, and it was more like autumn, but then out of the sudden it became hot. Yes, not warm, it became hot from one day to another. We had a really hot week now, you can’t even breathe anymore. Here is my annual opinion,.., I am ok with warm weather, but I do absolutely hate hot weather. These times make me wish to live somewhere in the north, maybe somewhere in … Continue reading Annual Complaint About The Summer Heat

Forest Flowers

At the time I’ve been in Reinfeld, I really enjoyed it to hike through the small forests in that area. I did this regularly when I had free time, and it always helped me to gain new energy. I had my camera with me most of the time as I searched for photo subjects. In this post you can see a photo of flowers that I found in the forest. There was always something unexpected happening, one morning I found deer in the forest, another day a mouse by the wayside, I met talkative people on my way, or strangers … Continue reading Forest Flowers

Your Previous Work Is Still Interesting

As soon as I got my first DSLR, I forgot about all the photos that I took with my smartphone or with the point and shoot camera. This is sad, and I got the idea to upload some of these older pictures from time to time (the flower photo in this post is a good start). While a DSLR gives us of course higher resolution and other good specs, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the photos are much better, you can also take great photos with lower end gear, because it’s not only about camera specs, it’s about the moments, … Continue reading Your Previous Work Is Still Interesting
