Footbridge in Bad Oldesloe

Here is a photo I took in Bad Oldesloe. While the colors of the original looked great, I didn’t like the heavy lens flare. I went through a couple of black and white settings until I found a vintage one that did hide most of the lens flare very well. On top of that, it transformed the photo in a very positive way. The reason why I shot the photo was that I liked the arch of the bridge from my point of view. Together with the housing in the background and the stairs, it just made me want to … Continue reading Footbridge in Bad Oldesloe

Minimalist Scene

This photo was shot when I was in Reinfeld. The fields of rape looked gorgeous in full flower. There was also a lot of deer. There have been moments where I didn’t trust my eyes because the head of a dear popped out of the field. But usually, I wasn’t fast enough to take the photo. But these moments were beautiful nonetheless and I really needed those moments because beside them, the reason why I was there was pretty sad as my uncle got terminal ill at that time and died later. I wouldn’t have been a help if I … Continue reading Minimalist Scene

Beautiful Field

I took the shot above because I somehow liked the scene. I liked the slope of the field and the tree behind it. And how the electricity grid has its path behind the tree. Since the clouds are so low, it almost looks like I am on a hill, but in reality it’s just Northern German flatland. It seems there is also a deer stand. I do assume that a hunter is shooting deer in the morning at this place. I hope you like the photo too! Continue reading Beautiful Field

Historic District Street

Here is another photo from Lübeck. I shot the photo in one of the streets of the historic district. That part of the city is quite old, and I think you can see this with the architecture. I like the old appearance, but it sometimes hard to take photos of the streets in this district as you either will have people in the photo or parked cars. Also I do wonder if a wide-angle lens would work better for this type of photography, but well, there are still other things on the wish list and I won’t add something to … Continue reading Historic District Street

Small Alley

We have some very small alleys in the city centre of Lübeck. Most of them are remains of the medieval urban development. I find it difficult to take photos in narrow alleys, but that just because I am always not sure how to frame the scene in this case. With the photo in this post I didn’t want to show you the whole scene but a part of it. I wanted to frame the cozy corner of it, because many of the residents have seating areas in front of their homes. The alleys are very calm places, because most of … Continue reading Small Alley
