Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

When I was hiking in Reinfeld back then, I often found whole fields of dandelion seed heads, almost oceans of them. When the wind was blowing, you would see millions of seed heads flying in the air, it really looked magical, or like in a fairy tale. But I thought it must be horrible for an allergic person. It must look cool if you take a photo of a flying seed head with a macro lens, but that’s probably pretty difficult to do. I noticed that I didn’t upload a lot of flower photos this year, there have been years … Continue reading Ocean of Dandelion Seed Heads

Common Blackbird Picture

I did already upload several common blackbird photos to my blog, but here is another one. I really didn’t like the highlights in the background, which is why I partly reduced vibrance and highlights. I did also decrease saturation of the blue colour to make the heaven highlights in the background even less apparent. Then I used the adjustment brush to reduce the contrast, exposure and saturation on the tree branch to shift the focus away from it. For the bird I used another adjustment brush to brighten the plumage and to show a little bit of detail. As I … Continue reading Common Blackbird Picture

There Is A 50mm Prime Lens On My Radar

I have chosen a photo for this post that I shot at 50mm with my Nikon 18-105mm kit lens. Taking a look into my Lightroom library, it’s clear I didn’t take a lot of photos at 50mm. This is no surprise due to the fact that I did spend most of my time in a village this year where it was quite easy to find beautiful birds, that’s why I purchased a 70-300mm lens at the beginning of this year. I’ve not been completely happy with the image quality of my tele lens, but still it amazed me to have … Continue reading There Is A 50mm Prime Lens On My Radar

Black And White Kitty Photo

Just throwing in another photo of my cat Shyna. Found this one in my Lightroom library, and I really like the unusual perspective. But I didn’t like the photo in colour and changed it to black and white. Of course, that always fits with a black and white cat as the subject. But to be honest, cats are always beautiful, and you can’t do anything wrong when you want to take pictures of them. I hope you like this photo, check out my other cat photos and stories. Handheld Night Photography Try

Here is a photo that I shot handheld at night. It’s funny, I have a very cool Manfrotto tripod and recently I did even purchase a cool tripod bag, but yet I am still too lazy to carry the stuff out there to take some cool night photographs. The photo in this post was shot without tripod, because as said, I am way too lazy to take the tripod with me. I shot the photo with manual settings as I wanted to try out if it’s possible at all. I did set the camera to ISO 1600 with aperture f4 … Continue reading Handheld Night Photography Try
