Female House Sparrow On The Gutter

We enjoyed our barbecue on the terrace some days ago when I noticed a sparrow on the gutter, and after researching I think that it was a female house sparrow. My camera was inside and I was sure the bird would fly away if I would stand up, but I did it anyway and I was right, the bird flew away. I hoped that the bird would come back and it happened. The bird was probably building a nest in the gutter or near the gutter. I was happy that I had a few more chances to take the photo … Continue reading Female House Sparrow On The Gutter

Cormorant Flyby

In this post you can see a photo of a cormorant that flew by when I was walking near the pond in Reinfeld. I am not sure why I shot the photo at 240mm, I could have used the 300mm of my Tamron lens, but I probably had no time to make that decision. Now I had to crop the 240mm to get closer, but I believe the image is still ok. I noticed that cormorants are not the best aviators, it’s funny to watch them flying, their flight looks awkward compared to the other birds. It’s easy to spot … Continue reading Cormorant Flyby

Walking Rook Bird

When I go outside for a walk with my camera, I pay a lot of attention to the things around me, and I usually decide if it’s worth to take a picture in a situation or not. But to be honest, sometimes I just take a photo without thinking a lot about it, I talk about random photos that I take spontaneously. This can happen if I am curious how the photo would turn out, if I want to see something up close later on the computer screen, if I am experimenting, or just for the fun to press the … Continue reading Walking Rook Bird

Another Robin

I posted already a Robin today, but I have another photo that I want to share. It’s because I saw several of them today, and I had a little bit of luck to get some decent shots. The days get brighter now that we start to see a little bit of sunshine. I hope to see even better lighting conditions soon, because I’d like to take some pictures with low ISO and less image noise. The photo in this post is shot at ISO 1250 and there is still a bit of noise visible, but at least I didn’t have … Continue reading Another Robin

Curious Robin

Today was more sunshine, it’s not too dark anymore, but still a little bit cloudy. Anyway, I thought I go out for a short hike and to take some pictures. I saw small birds again, and today they seemed to be a little bit more relaxed. You know, birds like to fly from one branch to another, and that makes it difficult to get a nice photo, but today that was easier. The Robin in the photo of this post for example did let me come close, I was only 2 meters away, and then I used the 300mm of … Continue reading Curious Robin
