Grumpy Herring Gull

I took this photo of a flying european herring gull, and I had to laugh a bit when I saw the photo on my PC screen, because the gull looks a bit grumpy. I like bird in flight photography but you always have to wait for a chance, that makes it difficult, and I do also wish that I could take more photos of less common birds in flight. If you liked the photo, check out my other bird photos. Continue reading Grumpy Herring Gull

Blurry Flying Gray Heron Photo

Here is yet another photo that I shot during my time in Reinfeld. I am back in L├╝beck for a while, and I do already miss the morning hikes through the nature with all the birds, but it’s now more important to be close to the hospital. Talking about the photo in this post, I tried to take a picture when I saw this flying gray heron, and the result is not too bad, but sadly too blurry as I had to crop a lot. Anyway, the subject is still recognizable, which is why I like the photo anyhow. Continue reading Blurry Flying Gray Heron Photo

Anyway, you can get some interesting results with a kit lens and I still would not suggest to skip the kit lens when you purchase a DSLR camera, because for me as a beginner it … Continue reading Flying Greylag Goose

No Luck With Flying Birds

The photo above is rather experimental, nothing I am proud about. I try to take photos of flying birds, but I had not much luck. The photo above is one of my earliest attempts to freeze a flying bird on a photo. As you can see, the bird is not in focus and way too blurry. I have some other new photos where I had more luck, I might upload them too. I also do start to understand what I do wrong, and I learned some new things about my camera. Of course I will need fast shutter speed for … Continue reading No Luck With Flying Birds
