Cute Kitten

Above is another cat photo I shot today. I saw this small and cautious kitten in a garden plot and it allowed me to take a photo. But you can see how cautious the kitten was. The plants are sadly a bit distracting but I really wanted the photo of this small kitten and I think it’s not too bad. Today I got a few photos that fit into my cat photo collection. Maybe I will do this again the next day. It’s actually pretty funny if you challenge yourself to take photos of just one subject, like I did … Continue reading Cute Kitten

A Stray Cat In The Garden

Today I attempted to take a photo of a black cat that sat there on a small path in the gardens. But this cat didn’t give me much time to take photos and disappeared in the hedge. There was a woman in one of the gardens and saw my attempt. I wondered if it would be her cat and I said: “I tried to get a photo, this cat is pretty shy”. Keep Your Distance Human

Today I challenged myself again to take new cat photos. The garden areas are great for that. I already tried the same yesterday and I got a really nice close-up photo of a beautiful ginger cat. But that doesn’t always work because not all cats let you come close and my 70-300mm lens won’t help me either if I am too far away. Some cats are shy or cautious and prefer it if you keep your distance. I found one that absolutely didn’t want me to come closer. I got a photo, but it was shot from the distance and … Continue reading Keep Your Distance Human

Farmer’s Cat

Above is a photo that I shot long before I owned a DSLR camera. It was either shot with a phone camera or with a point-and-shoot camera. We noticed this cat on a farm somewhere near Ratzeburg. The cats of farmers do probably look well fed because they can roam around freely, hunting mice and rats. I am not sure if this is true, but I’ve often heard that they have cats for that exact reason, they don’t want to have mice and rats on their farm. Maybe it’s true, I don’t know.
