Relax Like A Pro

My fault, I placed this carton in the basked of Shyna, and she likes it now. Ok, that is dramatized, in fact she liked the carton from the beginning after I unwrapped something I bought online. Sometimes it makes me laugh, cats can relax everywhere, even in a small carton. I forgot about the cardboard box after dropping it there for Shyna. Anyway, I think it’s time to take it out of her basket, she did a good job of scratching the box. Time to order something new online so that she gets a new cardboard box after unwrapping. If … Continue reading Relax Like A Pro

Monochrome Bridge

I saw this freeway bridge when I walked near the Trave River. Something was interesting about this bridge, I liked discolorations on the metal, the rust and the moisture on the material. I took quite a lot of photos from the distance and then close-up shots like the image above. I had no idea how I would take photos when I was almost under the bridge but I did try to play with perspectives and thought I could decide at home. The photo above had the most interesting perspective in my opinion. I have now much more details in the … Continue reading Monochrome Bridge

No Luck With Flying Birds

The photo above is rather experimental, nothing I am proud about. I try to take photos of flying birds, but I had not much luck. The photo above is one of my earliest attempts to freeze a flying bird on a photo. As you can see, the bird is not in focus and way too blurry. I have some other new photos where I had more luck, I might upload them too. I also do start to understand what I do wrong, and I learned some new things about my camera. Of course I will need fast shutter speed for … Continue reading No Luck With Flying Birds

Lübeck Inner-City Marketplace Past And Present Comparison

I shot the image some weeks ago when I walked through the inner-city of Lübeck. I wrote about the marketplace in Lübeck a couple of times, for example about the christmas market last year or when I uploaded an image that shows a part of the architecture that surrounds the marketplace. In the last post where I showed a part of the architecture, I did also upload a public domain image from 1905, I will attach this to my new post here too because this time I show my new image from a very similar angle. As it is nearly … Continue reading Lübeck Inner-City Marketplace Past And Present Comparison

Beautiful Daisy

As I mentioned in my recent post, it’s in quite a lot of cases impossible to get close-up shots of flowers with the Nikon 18-105mm kit lens, but that depends of course of the flower size. Walking near the Trave River, I found a daisy that was big enough so that I could focus well and got the shot you can see here in my post. This daisy was bigger than usual daisies, I was able to get this flower in focus, I can just forget to take photos of even smaller flowers. But for now this isn’t really a … Continue reading Beautiful Daisy

Beautiful Nature

I walked near the Trave River today to see if I find anything interesting, to see if I can take more photos. I took quite a lot of photos but I am not happy with all of them. Talking about flowers now, I noticed that my kit lens really doesn’t do a great job for flower close-up shots, it’s simply not a macro lens. If I zoom in too much, it’ll be very hard and often even impossible to get the flower in focus. But you can get some neat results if you are not too close, it’s just not … Continue reading Beautiful Nature
