Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

This image is my entry to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand. The gate on the left side of the image is called Holstentor (in english: Holsten Gate) and it is the landmark of the town Lübeck where I live. People who are interested about this beautiful and old architecture, might want to check out the article about the Holsten Gate on Wikipedia. While I know a lot about our landmark, I am actually little bit too lazy to prepare a complex and huge article. But I might hit that topic in the future too as I still have a lot … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

The Red Sky

Time for a new photo. The husband of my mother took this photo of Lübeck´s sky in the morning from a highrise. But I edited the photo a little bit with an android app. I think I have shown you some of my Pixlr-o-matic images already in the past. I like this little cool app. If you’re not at home but if you want to play with some effects and so, this little app is very handy and the results are often pretty cool. I really prefer it over Instagram. So, for sure I suggest you to try out Pixlr-o-matic! Continue reading The Red Sky

Sand Art Sculpture

I wonder why I never posted this photo. Maybe because I still have so many on my hard drive to upload. But it is anyway to post a photo on my blog as I didn´t do that often since some time now. This is one photo that my mother took with her smartphone some time ago on a local beach. It was summer 2013. I don´t know who the artist of this nice sand sculpture is but it does look pretty awesome. I think the person who did that, has great talent. I really like the sand sculpture. Great art! … Continue reading Sand Art Sculpture

Grandpa´s Birthday Cake

We visited grandpa today as it is his birthday. We had a nice talk and enjoyed his day while eating some cakes. One of the cakes is called “Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte” and the cake is called Black Forest gateau in english. The other cake is a “Erdbeer-Rolle” which could be called “Strawberry Roll” translated in english. Pretty tasty cakes! As always, grandpa had much to tell and I really like to listen as he can tell you much life stories! He sometimes really can´t stop talking but I think this is a family syndrome. Friends told me that I do talk … Continue reading Grandpa´s Birthday Cake

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unexpected

With the photo above I want to participate to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Unexpected. This is a shot with my smartphone and the quality is not great as the lighting conditions were bad. But it was still one of the moments when my cat gets funny. That is usually the moment when my cat starts to show some unexpected talents. This is why I think that the image does fit to the challenge even with bad quality of the photo. On the photo you can see a chair with a broken seat. The photo was taken before I wanted to … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Unexpected

I Borrowed Grandpa´s Vantage X-99 Guitar

I borrowed grandpa´s rare guitar of the Vantage label. It´s a Vantage X-99 guitar. Matsumoku in Japan produced the guitar in the 70´s or 80´s but I am not sure. The X-99 was one of the Vantage top models. I can remind that I played on grandpa’s X-99 guitar many times when I was a teenager. He had also a 1974 Fender Stratocaster and it was always hard to decide which one I would like to play for some hours. But I can tell you that the Vantage X-99 is in no way inferior to a Fender Strat. I tested … Continue reading I Borrowed Grandpa´s Vantage X-99 Guitar
