Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual POV

This photo is my contribution to the Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual POV. I shot the photo on the balcony of my mother. The white background is a solar protection wall and the grass is barley grain seed for cats and other pets like mices and other small animals. It can be grawn by the pets. Feel free to find out about all my other photographs or all my other Weekly Photo Challenge Entries. Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual POV

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

The image above is my entry to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea. The photo is made in Travemünde near Lübeck and you can see the Baltic Sea. You also can find my half brother in the water. The photo was made on a cloudy day. You can see with the mood of the photo that the north german summer will end soon. Even if I described it often on my blog. Here again… Sea does mean fresh air and water to me. If you are born near the sea, you will never want to move away from the sea. Sea … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

Some days ago, I found a bug near the stairway of my mother. We took the bug and went outside and droped the bug on the pavement and later on the grass. But first on the pavement to take a nice photo. I added a depth of field and vignette effect with the smartphone app pixlr o’matic as my smartphone camera has not such focal features like a pro camera. However, as always the result is great and I must say it again and again: smartphones are not too bad to take photos. This is why I will contribute with … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

Daily Prompt: P.C.

The Daily Prompt asked: “Is political correctness a useful concept, or does it stifle honest discussion?” and I must say that the answer is for me clear. Political Correctness (which is by the way a huge problem in Germany at the moment) does stifle honest discussion and it does also suppress opinions. Political correctness always reminds me to a dictatorship. Yes I do say it clear here. I truly see similarities. Political correctness is if a ruling party in your country is telling you every time if you do think different, your are bad. This is happening through the ruling … Continue reading Daily Prompt: P.C.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

We visited a nostalgic palace in Schwerin, which means that the Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic comes to the right time. The palace is build on an island surrounded by lakes. The palace is called “Schloss Schwerin” and it is a very beautiful place. The palace is build in 1845-57 by order of Friedrich Franz II as a residence for the grand dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. I think the architecturally idea is called neo-renaissance style and remembers a little bit to the french style like the Chambord. Today Schloss Schwerin is a museum. Outside it is already beautiful but sadly we didn´t … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable

The image above is my entry to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable. It´s a photo of my cat Shyna and she is my companion. Looks like I took the photo in a funny moment when she did stretch herself. I used my Sony Xperia P android smart phone and an app called “Fast Burst Camera Light” to take the photo. This app can do continues shots and the name burst camera hits the nail. However, I have to admit that the app does take preview photos like it happens when you capture videos. I do believe the app is just … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Companionable
