Weekly Photo Challenge: Curve

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge has the motto curve. Recently we had a lot of rainy days and that means I didn’t take a lot of new photos, but since I have a huge backlog of non-uploaded photos, I can still contribute to the challenge. The photo in this post was shot when I visited Bad Oldesloe, they have a lot of curved footbridges so that the Trave River can be crossed. By the way, you can find the same bridge in the photo in another post I uploaded some time ago. The currently uploaded photo was taken at the … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Curve

Weekly Photo Challenge: Pure

The recent WordPress photo challenge has the motto “Pure“. I thought I do upload a pure nature shot that I took some time ago in Reinfeld. It’s not that I always do know what I am doing, most often I do just experiment to find out how the photos turn out, and that’s basically what I did when I took the grass photo you can see in this post. It’s pure grass, pure nature, and I love the minimalist approach as pure green looks interesting to me. I hope you like the photo too and check out my other nature … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Pure

Our Best Friend Is Called Hope

It’s a long time ago since I participated in any of the WordPress daily prompts, but the recent prompt is about hope, and if there is a word that described our recent weeks and months and this day well, it’s the word hope. As I mentioned already once, my uncle got the diagnosis brain tumor, and until recently it was not clear what kind of tumor it would be. He had a brain surgery where they tried to remove most of it, and the laboratory in another hospital got the samples and we were now waiting for the results, to … Continue reading Our Best Friend Is Called Hope

Weekly Photo Challenge: Abstract

The recent WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge wants us to point our cameras at something familiar to turn it into something else, right, it’s about abstract photography. While I didn’t take an abstract photo recently, I thought I go through my Lightroom library to see if I can participate with any photo I have taken in the past, and I knew I would find a dozen of abstract photos. Sometimes I really try to shoot an abstract scene, but at times I do also get abstract photos due to any errors, like the wrong camera settings. focussing wrong, pressing the shutter … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Abstract

Weekly Photo Challenge: Landscape

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about landscapes. I was outside yesterday and shot the photo you can see in this post. It’s a pond called Herrenteich in Reinfeld. It’s a great place to hike, I liked the place during the winter, but now that the season is changing, I like it even more. I find a lot of birds there, there are many fields and smaller forests and beautiful trails near the pond, it’s a calming place. Since I am here, only really bad weather could hinder me to go out. Frozen Time

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about time. It’s some time ago when I told my mother how to fill up a glass with Coca Cola, not only because I was thirsty, but also because I wanted to try to freeze the time with my camera, or in other words, I wanted to find out how fast my D7100 camera is. At that time I was a complete newbie to DSLR photography, and I took the photo in the program mode but the result is just fine. At that time I didn’t discover the shutter priority mode, or the manual … Continue reading Frozen Time
