Spooky Abandoned Place

Here is another photo that is already 5 years old. I like abandoned places or lost places but we don’t have too many of those places in our city, which is why I don’t take these photos regularly. The building I photographed looked quite spooky and I am glad that I took photos of it because they demolished the building one or two years ago. But up to this day they didn’t build something new there, it’s now basically an empty lot. There is another photo of this building on my blog. Continue reading Spooky Abandoned Place

Smiley

Here is another old photo. Also shot with my Sony Xperia P back then. I think the scribbled smiley isn’t impressive but funny. But I probably liked how grungy the wall looked like. The photo however only looked great in black and white because it made the wall textures become more apparent. It actually looked a lot more grungy in black and white. Continue reading Smiley

Bridge and Rails

Just a snapshot I took near our train station. I like shapes of different bridges. Generally, the picture was a bit boring, but in black and white it really looked great. I don’t know, especially urban photos can look really grungy in black and white, especially when there are smearings on buildings or walls. I think these pictures start to shine when you convert them to black and white. But maybe it’s just my taste. I really like it that. But I do generally like black and white photography. Weekly Photo Challenge: Bridge

The current WordPress Photo Challenge comes with the topic bridge. It’s funny, I really can’t tell you how much bridge photos I shot, I am not even sure why I do that, but I can tell you that I have tons of bridge photos. I don’t know, sometimes I like the textures of the cement or wood, or the graffiti work that makes materials look very urban. There must be some kind of reason why I take these photos, maybe it’s just that we have too much bridges here (laugh). Joke aside, yeah I think it’s about the structure, the … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Bridge

Abandoned Building Near Rail Station

Here is a photo that I shot near the rail station of L├╝beck. The original photo bored me and I wondered what I could do to improve the photo. It turned out that a black and white effect makes the photo look interesting. I thought this looks pretty much like one of those images that are used on old hip hop record labels. I like how this turned out. Sometimes you are just a few mouse clicks away to heavily improve a boring photo. I must say, I am generally a fan of black and white photos, but I think … Continue reading Abandoned Building Near Rail Station
