Vivid Flowers

The recent Weekly Photo Challenge theme is “Vivid”. We have a small flowerbed near the pond in our garden, the flowers are very tiny and I think they really look vivid.

The flower bed is not very big but depending on the angle you take photos, it looks like an ocean of flowers, that’s at least what I tried to achieve.

I shot two photos and couldn’t decide which one is better, I decided to upload them both to this post. However, I wish I would have had another lens for the shots.

    1. The focus is slightly different in each photo, which is why I also couldn’t decide which one to use 🙂 I like them both too and I am glad you too 🙂

    1. I am not sure about that. I am totally clueless when it comes to flower names, I just like to take pictures of them 🙂 I guess you know much more, I asked google for creeping phlox and I think you are right, they look the same 🙂

  1. These are beautiful! I like the way both the foreground and background is blurred. I haven’t tried any shots like this but I’m feeling inspired to try it now. 🙂

    1. I did focus manually,… I wanted to have the foreground in focus, it seems I focused in the middle. Watching through the viewfnder it actually looked as if I would have focused on the foreground and middle but that was not true as it turned out at home.

However, you are right, even if unintended, it looks surprisingly good 🙂 So, I think you can do this by focusing manually if you are close to the flowers. 🙂
