Here is another smartphone snapshot from the past. I like it because of the leading line, the pier. The original had really dull or boring colours. I decided to try different black and white settings and found one that I really liked. I’d say it’s a minimalist photo, but I like that too. The photo was taken at the Baltic Sea in Travemünde. I totally love that place, not just because it’s so close to me, but I am a Fischkopp to the core (a fishhead, a person from Northern Germany, someone who couldn’t live at a place far away from the sea). So, images like the one above also express what I would call “home”. I hope you like the image too.
I like the lines too and it works well as a black and white photo. I lived by the sea for many years and I do miss it where I am now but the Huon River is close by so at least I am near water. I always like to be near water.
A big river is a nice compromise, I could imagine to live near a river instead of the sea. I spent a lot of time in my childhood near rivers, they mean home to me too. But with any other places I could bear no more than one or two weeks… holidays would be enough. South France and the Mediterranean Sea felt more home to me than any German state southern from Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Niedersachsen…. so, yeah… when people call us Fischköppe (plural), we definitely are fishheads 😀 We need a large bathtub in close proximity, a natural one. 🙂
This is lovely, Dennis. The composition is spot on…
If I had a choice I’d have a little cottage right at the edge of a lake, or at the ocean, just above the high tide line. Maybe in my next life…
Thank you. 🙂 Good that you like it too!
Yes, I am like you. Even with a big lottery win I would just need something small near the river or ocean. Like you said, a small and cozy cottage. That would be enough! I wouldn’t need a big mansion 🙂
Love it! It’s really a magic moment 🙂
I am glad you like the picture 🙂 It’s also a magic place. I love the baltic sea 🙂
