Rock Balancing

I found those stones at the Baltic Sea while walking along the Brodtener Ufer steep coast (click the link because it’s such a nice place). Before that, I’ve never known that this is an actual activity. It’s called rock balancing as I have learned later. This place was full of balanced rocks. I wasn’t sure why they were all in one place. I still have other photos. Maybe it’s where some people meet to do this activity or someone went nuts and couldn’t stop balancing stones (lol). Maybe it was a Monk, we will never know. All I know is … Continue reading Rock Balancing

Baltic Sea Swans

Here is a snapshot that I shot sometime ago when I hiked somewhere between Timmendorfer Strand and Travemünde. I saw two swans playing in the Baltic Sea water. It’s both amazing, when they land or when they take off. I always though they are pretty playful, in Reinfeld for example I was standing on a bridge and some swans flew over my head as if they wanted to show their flying skills. This together with the white plumage makes them look majestic. There are more photos of swans on my blog if you like to see some other images. Continue reading Baltic Sea Swans

Baltic Sea Pier

Here is another smartphone snapshot from the past. I like it because of the leading line, the pier. The original had really dull or boring colours. I decided to try different black and white settings and found one that I really liked. I’d say it’s a minimalist photo, but I like that too. The photo was taken at the Baltic Sea in Travemünde. I totally love that place, not just because it’s so close to me, but I am a Fischkopp to the core (a fishhead, a person from Northern Germany, someone who couldn’t live at a place far away … Continue reading Baltic Sea Pier

Balance

When I hiked along the beach between Travemünde and Timmendorf, I saw that many people had put stones over stones. I think it is called stone stacking. I’ve seen this somewhere while I browsed YouTube, but now this trend arrived here too. It’s maybe a good way to test your patience, but I also saw a video of a ranger in Australia, who said that this would be dangerous for certain animals. Parts of our coast are full of these stacked stones, I mean I saw hundreds of these stacked stones. Not sure what is so trendy about it. Continue reading Balance
