We had a barbecue today in the garden. And as always, my mother prepared a salad as a dessert. This time it was tomato and onion salad. Super fresh and delicious! And since I like to take photos of fresh salads, I shot one this time again. I saw this nice park bench and thought it would be a great background. This is why you almost see the dressing spill out on the right side. The surface wasn’t even. This was shot with my 40mm and I think this lens makes me go a bit too close for a food photo, and I think the minimum focus distance of my 50mm makes me shoot more natural food photographs. I think 50mm is perfect for it on a DX camera, and 40mm macro makes you feel inclined to go very close. This can be good, or not. I will see in the future.
I usually make a tomato and cucumber salad but I should try that.
I do make it with cucumbers too. But I like my mother’s tomato onion salad as well. But she’s also making it with cucumber sometimes.
Sometimes I make it with mayonnaise and other times I use lemon juice and fresh mint.
