Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

The recent Weekly Photo Challenge is about boundaries. The boundary you see in my photo is a protective barrier for the railroad network. I think it has two functions, stopping people to cross the rails and noise-insulation. What I like about the wall is that it’s not an ugly wall, I like how it’s overgrown with plants, we have other more ugly protective barriers in our city, but this one is quite beautiful in my opinion, what do you think? Cute Chicken

Above you see a photo that shows one of our chickens. Chickens are not the type of animals that are called cute very often, not so often like cats, dogs or other pets, but the more I saw our chickens, the more I thought they do actually look cute too. I like them so much because the sounds they make are funny and when I enter our chicken enclosure, they follow me with each step. I do also like the picture I shot, I hope you do like it too. Schellbruch In Grayscale

I didn’t like how the image above turned out, because the photo looked very bleached and I changed it to grayscale to make it look better. The image had so much whites and it was even hard to fix it with Lightroom. Sometimes, when images are too white, with too much reflections or if the image is somewhat overexposed or if it looks too bleached, changing it to grayscale or black and white might be an option. I think the result is acceptable anyhow. I shot the photo at the Schellbruch, I haven’t uploaded all the images from there yet. Continue reading Schellbruch In Grayscale

Very Beautiful Sunflower

I walked through the garden with my mother on the weekend. She still likes to take pictures with her smartphone, although I let her practise with my DSLR too. We did for example take photos or portraits of each other, she likes to play with my camera too, and it’s good because I get photos of myself too on that way. But we were also interested if there are still flowers in the parks near the gardens, and we found some cool photo subjects. I found the sunflower you can see in my photo and had to take a picture. … Continue reading Very Beautiful Sunflower

First The Bad Change, Then The Good Change

The recent WordPress Photo Challenge is about change. When I think about changes, a lot would come to my mind, but then I found a photo in my folders that I shot last year, it’s a photo about two big changes, the divided Germany, and also the German reunification. I will show you remaining pieces of the wall that divided East and West Germany. I shot the photo somewhere between the federal states Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far away from our city Lübeck that was on west side of the border, but pretty close to it. As our city was … Continue reading First The Bad Change, Then The Good Change
