Declassified


If you ever wondered who is writing on this blog, I have good news for you. The secret is lifted, with a pencil. I am kidding. I still like a certain degree of anonymity. But recently I discovered that the photo app of my Huawei phone has some basic effects. I messed around with them and discovered one effect that was called “pencil” and I really liked it. It turns my selfies into pencil drawings as you can only see outlines but no textures. VHS Cassettes, Chips and Salsa


Here is just a snapshot I took with my phone. I did spend quite a bit of time with my mother the last days as we went through several VHS cassettes that our family recorded. Meanwhile, we ate chips with salsa. We’ve been sad when we found out that some cassettes didn’t work anymore but maybe we will find a solution to recover them. But others worked. The videos we watched were recorded in the ’80s and ’90s. We went through videos of weddings, holidays, and parties. Foreground and Background


I think the image at the top was an experimental shot. I could imagine that I liked the dark forest background and that I wanted to find out how the depth of field looks like if I focus on the plants. There is a small meadow in front of the forest. We Need A Vet Appointment


I shot the photo at the top with my phone. When I sit at the computer, my cat sometimes joins me and it’s quite cute how she finds a comfortable position at the desk.
