Neighbors Cat
It’s that time again and people let their cats out as it is now a little bit warmer. We have some other very beautiful cats in the neighborhood. My cat Shyna is a house cat, but she has the perfect view near the window to watch all the other cats. On the photo above you can see one of the neighbor cats sitting in a hollow of a parking garage. I opened my windows and shot the photo, it’s not too bad with the 105mm kit lens, but in this case and also in the case of shooting birds I … Continue reading Neighbors Cat
Duck In Motion
The latest WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is about motion. I took several photos of ducks and other birds when I tested my new camera days ago. I think one of the does really fit to the motto of the recent photo challenge. The photo I will show you in this post is my choice because you can clearly see the swimming duck in motion due to the waves in the water behind the duck. I hope you like my entry to the recent photo challenge too. You can also click on the image to see the larger file. Continue reading Duck In Motion
Under The Bridge
Above you can see a rather abstract photo. I like metal and stuff like this. I do also like architecture and constructions. In this case I like how the shadows of the grids are visible on the metal and the shading is cool too. There is simply something interesting about the photo, I think because it looks abstract. Pigeon Close-Up
Today I did grab the photo gear again and went outside to take more photos. It will probably take months to upload all the photos of the first shooting but I went outside for the second big shooting anyway. I have a lot of fun to take photos with the new camera and it doesn’t really matter when I upload all the images, it’s cool that the photo collection is growing, although I will run out of hard drive space very soon, but I might buy an additional hard drive then. Today I shot all kind of stuff, but also … Continue reading Pigeon Close-Up
Natrix natrix
We found a grass snake in our garden pond yesterday. This is a non-venomous snake you can find here in Germany, generally in Europe from Scandinavia to southern Italy but I learned that you can find them in the Middle East and northwestern Africa as well. The binomial name is “Natrix natrix”, the English name is grass snake but sometimes also called water snake or ringed snake, the last name is similar to the German name, because we call this snake Ringelnatter and that means ringed snake. The German name comes from the necklace pattern behind the head. The snake … Continue reading Natrix natrix
Big Old Spoon
Another object I photographed yesterday was the spoon below. This is a spoon hanging on the flagpole in our garden. We use the spoon for the charcoal if we do a barbecue. I like object photography and in this case I like that the background is blurred and that there is depth of field. Continue reading Big Old Spoon
