White Wagtail On The Footpath

I think I found the white wagtail today. I never had a lot of knowledge about birds, I just knew common birds, but I start to learn more about them since I take photos of the birds I find on my way when I go hiking. Today when I saw this small bird in front of me on the footpath, I thought it would be a young great spotted woodpecker, because they have a similar black and white head as well, but at home I researched more and now I think that the bird in my photo is a white … Continue reading White Wagtail On The Footpath

Beautiful Forest Bird

Today I walked through the forest again and then I saw a bird in the bush, it’s most likely an Eurasian blackcap bird, a male, because the females have an orange cap and not a black one. During my research I also thought it could be a March tit or the Willow tit, but now I am sure it’s the Eurasian blackcap because the others would have a black marking on the chin and there were some other differences. After I nailed it down to the three birds, I asked the Google image search and thought, yeah, this should definitely … Continue reading Beautiful Forest Bird

Beautiful Eurasian Blue Tit

Here is another bird photo. It’s some weeks ago when I found this Eurasian blue tit on a branch. It was cloudy and quite dark as you can see in the background, and sadly I was still too far away to fill the frame, which means I had to crop and the image quality suffered. There is sadly also chromatic aberration in this photo. Anyway, the scene is good and I like this bird pretty much. I see this one quite often as well, at least here in the nature, not so often in the city. While my Tamron 70-300mm … Continue reading Beautiful Eurasian Blue Tit

Swan Landing

Here is a scene that I really like, I saw this swan landing in the water yesterday. However, I am sad that the white plumage is so overexposed, and I was so far away that I had to crop too much and image quality suffered a lot. But anyway, I like the scene, the landing of the swan, and the water splash. I find it still very difficult to take photos of flying birds, my results are not always good, but I will get more experience over time I think. I had the camera in program mode when the swan … Continue reading Swan Landing

Common Blackbird Photograph

It seems my common blackbird photos category starts to grow. Common blackbirds are easy to find here in Germany, and that means they are a perfect target to practice bird photography. I shot the photo in this post some weeks ago, the sunlight was not too strong, but there was decent sunlight, and I like days where it’s not too bright and not too dark. The photo was shot with my Tamron 70-300mm lens, but I cropped the image to get a little bit closer to the bird. I tried the rule of thirds composition and flipped the image horizontally, … Continue reading Common Blackbird Photograph

Walking Rook Bird

When I go outside for a walk with my camera, I pay a lot of attention to the things around me, and I usually decide if it’s worth to take a picture in a situation or not. But to be honest, sometimes I just take a photo without thinking a lot about it, I talk about random photos that I take spontaneously. This can happen if I am curious how the photo would turn out, if I want to see something up close later on the computer screen, if I am experimenting, or just for the fun to press the … Continue reading Walking Rook Bird
