Sailor Figure

Above is a portrait that I shot of a figure that seems to present a sailor. These or similar figures are not very uncommon here at the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany. Especially near the beaches, you can often find similar figures in front of restaurants, and some are memorials at hidden places. I can’t recall if there was a story related to the figure in my picture, because sometimes there are small signs that tell you what the figure is about. But I think the sailor in my picture was just decoration in front of a restaurant near the … Continue reading Sailor Figure

Pigeon On A Street Light

Above is a shot that I took in 2016 when I saw this pigeon on a street light. I never really decided to upload it because I didn’t really like it due to some issues. But just out of boredom, I edited some of my older images today and decided to try out black and white. This did really hide some of the issues I saw with the image, for the example the fact that it had very boring colours. But as I said often on my blog, and as many other photographers featured out for themselves as well, black … Continue reading Pigeon On A Street Light

Old Weapon

The photo above shows my old Medion 14.0 MP digital camera. I think my very first images on this blog were all taken with a phone camera but that was at a time when the cameras in phones were still not that good. So, to get a bit better photos I purchased the Medion camera back then and I think I shot quite a lot of photos with it over time. You could say this thing started my love with photography, and at some point I demanded a bit more and then I purchased my first DSLR camera, the Nikon … Continue reading Old Weapon

Give Me Five Cat

My cat Shyna knows quite a lot of tricks. When I shot the photo above, I said “Give me five” but in German. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she can do it if I say it in English. I say that because I taught her a lot of tricks and I noticed that she doesn’t only listen to me, it is also that she looks what my hands are doing. A flat horizontal hand for example does mean “Give me your paw”, while a vertical hand does mean “Give me five”. It works both ways, I can either use … Continue reading Give Me Five Cat

Weekly Photo Challenge: Bridge

The current WordPress Photo Challenge comes with the topic bridge. It’s funny, I really can’t tell you how much bridge photos I shot, I am not even sure why I do that, but I can tell you that I have tons of bridge photos. I don’t know, sometimes I like the textures of the cement or wood, or the graffiti work that makes materials look very urban. There must be some kind of reason why I take these photos, maybe it’s just that we have too much bridges here (laugh). Joke aside, yeah I think it’s about the structure, the … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Bridge
