Late Justice Drama

If you are blogging for so many years, you will experience some funny things. Most often you make blogging friends, and the community at WordPress is one of the best communities I have experienced. There are more shitty places in the web, but even if you found a good community, there is a chance that you will meet a troll some day. But before that happens, you’re starting to think about the Fermi Paradox, because “Statistically there should be other civilizations in the universe, but where are they?” is a very similar question like “Statistically there should be trolls in … Continue reading Late Justice Drama

Does Merkel Know The Difference Between Meaningful Critique And Hate Speech?

This is not a news, Facebook has been criticized by German politicians for not censoring Facebook comments, or for not giving the right tools to censor comments on the own fan pages at Facebook. Currently all known German politicians battle with the ever-increasing amount of negative comments on their pages, and while it’s true, you can find hate speech, the majority of the comments are not hateful but written by people with justified worries and question. When Merkel talked with Zuckerberg, she probably didn’t ask for better moderation tools on Facebook pages to be able to delete the hate speech … Continue reading Does Merkel Know The Difference Between Meaningful Critique And Hate Speech?

Hilarious Spam Comment Examples Part 3

Considering that there is not much comedy on my blog, apart from my Memes maybe, I thought that some spam comments are so amusing, that they could spice up my blog with humor. Hilarious Spam Comment Examples Part 2

It´s some time ago when I introduced my series of Hilarious Spam Comment Examples. However, I just did start with one example at that time and didn´t go on with the series. One of the reasons is, because Akisment works very well and puts most of the spam comments into the spam folder. But I do also manually approve all comments and sometimes I still find spam. So, lets take another example… Above you can see a comment that got my attention. The person or bot did try to place this comment on one of my Luebeck articles. It was … Continue reading Hilarious Spam Comment Examples Part 2

About The Blog Smilies…

WordPress.com users and bloggers can use smilies in articles but also in the comment section of a blog. I like that pretty much because it adds some emotions and fun to a discussion. But I wish it would be possible that we bloggers could replace them with our own images. That would allow us to create own sets of smilies for our blogs. It wouldn´t be anything else than replacing the smilies with different images in the settings and that makes me wonder why we still don´t have this option. This would be a small but nice new feature and … Continue reading About The Blog Smilies…

Asking you… Do you prefer nested or non-nested chronological comment discussion settings on a blog?

I did set up my blog so that comments and discussions can be nested. But at the moment I ask myself if I should go back to the normal settings which do not allow nested comments. The problems I see with nested comments is that you have to set up how deep discussions are allowed to be nested and if you set it up that it allows 3 or 5 levels of nested discussion, the conversation between the people can stop abrupt as people think that it does not make sense to reply to a person if the last level … Continue reading Asking you… Do you prefer nested or non-nested chronological comment discussion settings on a blog?
