Eating

Above you can see a photo that I shot during Christmas Eve when I ate together with my grandma, grandpa and my uncle. We ate turkey with peas, red cabbage, gravy and potato croquettes. Yes, I do upload the image a bit late but it’s not always possible to upload the photos after I shot them. But I mentioned that often, I have a really big backlog. It’s a bit difficult to take a look at this photo because I visited the dentist again today and due to the local anesthesia I ate a soup instead of something heavy. It … Continue reading Eating

Tasty Bulgur Salad

I like to eat some Turkish and Arabic meals and side dishes. I do for example like Bulgur salad. I have a Turkish fruit dealer around the corner and I know this family since a very long time. Years ago when I bought fruits, she suggested me to try her Turkish Bulgur salad. I said that it would look like Cous Cous and that I really love Cous Cous, but she replied that it would be similar, just still not the same. I got a small box filled with Bulgur for free, including the suggestion to put it on lettuce … Continue reading Tasty Bulgur Salad

More Fruits

If you are readings my blog since some time, you probably heard that I love vegetables, especially tomatoes and cucumber or anything that goes into the salad. Yeah, that’s fine, because I know people who hate vegetables and I am glad that I am different in this case. The issue is however that I usually shared the same feeling about fruits, I wouldn’t say that I hate fruits but they were simply not often on my menu, except bananas maybe. When I was shopping today I saw beautiful looking apples and got the idea to start eating more fruits. Sometimes … Continue reading More Fruits

Salad Time

You can probably find a lot of posts on my blog where I praise salads, but well, here we go again. I am a real fan of salads with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and so on. Grandma did it already, my mother too, and even I as a kitchen noob can do it because it’s just like slicing and throwing the ingredients into a big bowl (laugh). A few days ago, me and my mother were hungry but it was very sunny and warm when we sat at her balcony and we decided to eat salad. As always, this was also … Continue reading Salad Time

Photo Shooting, Shopping And Tasty Bockwürstchen

I met my mother today because we wanted to go shopping together in a big shopping center. I shot some very cool portraits of my mother on the way to the malls, and even inside the shopping center because Christmas trees or any Christmas lights make a nice bokeh portrait background. We definitely had fun, although my mother is a bit shy because strangers were curious and looked, but I told her “You will get used to it”. As a German, I can tell you, taking photos or posing for a portrait is definitely not normal in Germany. For the … Continue reading Photo Shooting, Shopping And Tasty Bockwürstchen

Unexpected Possibilities

I purchased my Nikon 50mm prime lens because I liked the fact that you can play with depth of field and bokeh according to different sources. On my DX sensor, 50mm are effectively seen 75mm, that means I thought this would also be a nice lens to try portrait photography and this is true. The weather is so bad that I don’t like to go outside with my camera, but I tested the new lens inside. I visited grandma and grandpa, and my uncle, and I shot several portrait photos and liked it. There are a couple of other reasons … Continue reading Unexpected Possibilities
