My mother made the salad in the photo at the top. The way it was prepares is kinda unusual. She basically grated the salad but it was an interesting and new experience to eat it like that. The ingredients were lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and radish. Putting radish into it was unusual too as I’ve never seen someone in my family preparing it like that. This is incredibly tasty, we call it “Rettich” in Germany. I actually tried to translate it but found out it is called “radish” in English, which is strange. Why? Because it seems the same word is used for another type of vegetables, the one we call Radieschen. I have no clue why “Radieschen” and “Rettich” are both called “radish” in English.
