A Hoverfly On A Beautiful Flower


Above you see a photo that I shot in a botanic garden that I found during my hike two days ago. When I was there, I thought I would have seen a lot of bees, but at home I noticed in the photo above that it’s probably rather a hoverfly or a so-called dronefly, not a bee. I think it must be a hoverfly due to the big eyes and the black abdomen. I found an article about the Eristalis hoverfly on Wiki, I think it could be the same. I hope you like the photo. Bumblebee At Work


It’s not a long time ago when I uploaded a photo of a bumblebee, but we have plenty of flowers in the garden and therefore also enough bumblebees and other insects.  I like to watch them, I also like to take photos of them. The Nikon 18-105mm lens is not really made for macro photography, but the more I use the lens, the more I get at least some kind of close-up shots, not exactly macro shots but still interesting photos I think. Ant on the Plant


I was not sure how to call this post here but then I got an idea, and a second later I had to laugh because I love how the title “Ant on the Plant” rhymes. Talking about the photo, I used the macro mode of my digital camera to capture the photo of the ant. The macro mode will of course not do wonders because the camera is cheap, but sometimes it works out well. The photo was quite blurry anyway, but I could fix it anyhow with Lightroom.
